Properties :

Hybrid K12 x B bacterium (mostly K12 though), containing the recA13 mutation that minimizes recombination and aids in insert stability. In addition, it carries the hsdS20(rB-mB-) restriction minus genotype which prevents cleavage of cloned DNA by endogeneous restriction enzymes. Highly tranformable, suitable for vectors that do not require lacZ alpha-complementation.
