1983, ATCC <- C.P. Hegarty, strain: R. Hugh 813 Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Isolated from :
Outer ear infection
Properties :
Quality control strain for both the European and American Pharmacopeia. Absence of type III secretion system. No twitching motility.
Classification :
Formerly classified as Pseudomonas aeruginosa Based on phylogenetic, genomic and molecular characteristics, two clades were identified within P. aeruginosa species, the P. aeruginosa sensu stricto clade and a second clade, constituting a novel species for which the name Pseudomonas paraeruginosa was proposed with the strain NCTC 13628 T, as its type strain (Int J Syst Evol Microbiol 2022; 72:5542)
